General
To prevent bituminous materials from adhering to tyres the tyres' contact
surfaces are preheated by thermal radiation (infrared radiation). Then,
the tyre surfaces are further heated with the rolling procedure through
the hot layer material. The tyre heating is only required prior to the rolling
procedure and when the layer material cools down.

Arrangement and function
The heating system consists of gas-fired infrared radiators which are
combined and arranged so as to ensure that the entire width of the
tyres is covered by heat radiation. The design of the fastening makes
it possible to fold up the radiator group for cleaning and maintenance
work.

Driver's safety device
The driver's safety device makes certain that the radiator groups are
switched either on or off automatically during driving or when the wheels
are stopped. The gas-fired infrared radiators are switched on or off
automatically when roller operation is in progress
