Power Options Problems (for Windows XP)
Problem:
Windows XP does not enter Stand By mode automatically.
Solution
• If you are connected to another system, the computer does
not enter Stand By mode if the connection is actively in use.
• Make sure the Stand By time-out is enabled.
Problem:
Hibernation does not work.
Make sure that Hibernation is enabled in the Power Options
control panel applet.
Software Problems
Problem:
An application program does not work correctly.
• Make sure that the software is correctly installed.
• If error messages appear on the screen, consult the software
program’s documentation for further information.
• If you are sure the operation has stopped, restart the system.
Sound Problems
Problem:
No sound is produced.
Solution
• Make sure that the volume is not muted or set too low.
• Make sure that the audio driver is correctly installed.
• If using an external audio device, make sure that the cable
is properly connected.
Problem:
Distorted sound is produced.
Solution
Make sure that the volume is not set too high. In most cases,
high settings can cause the audio electronics to distort the sound.
Problem:
An external microphone or audio device does not work.
Solution
• Make sure that the cable is properly connected.
• Make sure that the audio driver is correctly installed.
• Check the volume control of your system.
• Make sure the Microphone option is enabled under the volume
control panel.
