2.6.1.3 Secure the Mast Assembly
To secure the Mast Assembly:
1. Carefully move the Mast Assembly into position in the mounting location.
2. Use the Base of the Mast Assembly as a template to drill eight mounting holes (Figure
2-6) into the mounting structure. The mounting holes should be sized as appropriate for
the mounting hardware being used. The Mast Assembly is designed to use a minimum
of M14
or maximum of M16 (
⅝ inch) mounting hardware.

3. Ensure the Mast Assembly is level in all directions. If necessary, shims may be added to
correct the alignment of the mast. It is necessary to check the mast in two places 90°
apart when leveling.
4. Secure the Mast Assembly to the mounting structure with eight sets of customer-
provided stainless steel hardware. Torque all hardware as appropriate for its size and
grade. The mounting hardware must include proper means to resist vibration loosening
such as thread-locking compound and locking hardware. Ensure the Mast Assembly
remains level as it is torqued. The recommended torque for M14 Stainless Steel bolts is
67-80 Nm (49.2-58.8 ft-lb.). The recommended torque for M16 Stainless Steel bolts is
92-110 Nm (67.9-81.3 ft-lb.).
