Monthly
Fasteners
– Inspect external
fasteners, shaft safety pins, snap
rings, and actuator coupling pin
retaining clip. Look for loose,
missing, bent, or broken fasteners.
Look for chipped paint, bare metal, or
rust around the bolt heads.
Replace any missing or damage
hardware. If any hardware is found
loose, retighten. If loose fasteners
joining major components cannot be
tightened, do not use the Mast
System and have it serviced before
use.
Monthly
Vehicle Interlock Sensor
– Inspect
the position of the sensor. It should
not be in contact with the moving
base section (approximately a 5 mm
gap is recommended). The sensor
should also not be too far from the
base section when nested to prohibit
closing the Vehicle Interlock circuit.
LEDs on the sensor housing indicate
it is detecting the nested position.
Adjust the sensor as needed
following the procedure outlined in
Section 2.6.2.3.
Monthly
Mast Cables
– Inspect Mast System
cables. Look for cracked, frayed, or
broken insulation; bare wires; loose
or broken connectors. Inspect the
cable protective conduit in the
knuckle joint for damage or
movement out of the knuckle joint
area. Inspect all cable grips to
ensure they are tight and providing a
good seal.
Replace cables as required. Tighten
loose connections or cable grips.
Reposition the knuckle conduit if
needed to protect the cable in the
knuckle joint. The conduit is free to
slide over the cable.
Monthly
Look-Up Light
– Inspect the Look-
Up light lens for damage or dirty
surface.
Clean the lens to maximize the mast
operating zone illumination. Remove
any foreign objects blocking the light.
Monthly
RCP Saddle Bumpers
– Visually
inspect the RCP saddle bumpers for
loose hardware or excessive wear.
Tighten hardware or replace worn
out bumpers.
Monthly
Base Section Bumpers
– Visually
inspect the base saddle bumpers for
loose hardware or excessive wear.
Tighten hardware or replace worn
out bumpers.
Monthly
Base Section
– Lift upwards at the
back of the mast at the knuckle joint.
The base section should be driven
into the base section bumper with no
mechanical play in the nested
position.
If mechanical play is observed, the
base section bumpers can be
elevated by placing washers below
the bumpers. Shim up just enough to
allow the control system to drive the
base section into the bumpers when
nesting. Longer M6 screws may be
required.
