The electroformed objects are dark or tarnished.
Insufficient goldplating bath quantity used.
Magnetic agitator rod was omitted.
The objects are too thin
The contacts are soiled.
Ensure that no dirt gets into the contacts.
The contact rod was not connected properly. Ensure
that the surface to be electroformed is connected to the
contact rod with conductive silver lacquer and that this
connection has not been damaged.
There was a power failure during the electroforming
process.
The use of too much contact adhesive has led to an
insulating layer on the contact rod.
Use a scalpel to clean the contact rod right up to the
plaster die before applying the conductive silver
lacquer.
There are gaps in the surface of the coping
The surface to be electroformed was not completely
coated with conductive silver lacquer.
The object touched the side of the glass beaker.
Ensure that the die is positioned as described in the
AGC MicroVision operating instructions
The die has fallen off
Not enough or the wrong contact adhesive was used
and / or the bore hole for the contact was too large.
Ensure that the die is glued securely to the contact rod
and that the drilled hole has the correct measurements.
The maximum permitted length of the contact rod was
exceeded allowing the magnetic agitator rod to strike
the die off the rod.
If the fault cannot be rectified by these measures, please
contact please contact Wieland Technik.
