The AGC conductive silver lacquer coating must be
allowed to dry for 10 minutes before deposition.
Otherwise residues of the organic bonding agent
could react with the AGC goldplating bath.
It is essential that the conductive surface be evenly
dry and therefore evenly conductive.
The conductive silver lacquer changes colour while
drying. For comprehensive information on how to handle
the lacquer on different die materials, please see the
separate silver lacquer instructions.
2.4. Preparing and starting the unit
Press the
"Electroforming"
button in the main menu. You
will now be guided through the electroforming process step
by step.
2.4.1. Preparing the electroforming head
Remove the complete electroforming cell from the AGC
MicroVision unit.
Unlock the electroforming head by turning the sealing
clip to the right up to the marking, remove the clip, and
lift the electroforming head out of the electrolyte
reservoir.
Remove the anode from the electroforming head.
Press the
" Electroforming "
button to continue to the
next input menu:
Use fresh goldplating bath every time you set up the
machine. New goldplating bath contains 8.5 g accessible
gold per 500 ml. If you plan carefully it is possible to use
all of the 8.5 g gold.
