1. Setting up the unit
The AGC MicroVision is designed to operate
with a mains voltage of 230V~/50Hz. It should
not be exposed to direct sunlight. The ambient
temperature should not exceed 40 °C at a
relative humidity of 75 %. Ensure that the
ventilation slots at the
rear of the unit
are
kept clear. Place the unit on a
stable support.
Please ensure that the unit is supplied with
power 24 hours a day and seven days a
week (check the night socket, main switch,
etc.).
Design of the unit
The AGC MicroVision contains one electropla-
ting cell, in which up to 9 pieces can be
electroformed at once. In each electroforming
process objects can be assigned different
plating thicknesses (0.2 mm or 0.3 mm).
The AGC MicroVision operates with AGC Micro-
Vision Goldplating bath (Ref. No.
77-00-1003
)
which is supplied in 500 ml bottles
containing 8.5 g accessible gold.
The goldplating bath is only used once – fresh
goldplating bath is used for each electroforming
process. The electroforming times depend on the
plating thickness selected (240 min for 0.2 mm;
319 min for 0.3 mm).
Reusable stainless steel contact rods are used to
contact the dies. The rods are connected to the
AGC MicroVision electroforming head with
magnetic contacts. There is a special bar fork
(Ref. No.
70-69-0072)
for electroforming bars.
The operator follows the input steps shown on
the display screen which also displays information
about the operating status and operational
faults (e.g. wrong or poor contacts of the
magnetic contact rods) registered by the
electronics and relayed as fault messages. Input
is made direct via the touch screen display. To
assemble or remove the electroformed objects
the complete electroforming cell is removed
from the machine, protecting the device from
soiling.
The electroforming cell is designed for easy
handling and cleaning of the parts.
Layout of the electroforming cell:
The electroforming cell consists of 4 parts:
1. The electrolyte reservoir, a 200 or 600 ml
glass beaker with magnetic agitator.
2. The anode with an external anode ring and
magnetic contact rod.
3. The electroforming head with temperature
sensor and seal.
4. The sealing clip.
Caution: Do not try to remove the
temperature sensor from the
electroforming head. This may damage
the supports. This part is securely fixed
and cannot be unscrewed or removed.
Please retain the original packaging so that
if servicing is required the unit can be
returned safely.
