Before Surgery

- Do not reuse or desterilize accessories labeled “disposable” or “single use
only”.
Patient Return Electrode:
Warning
- Do not cut patient return electrode to reduce its size, pad site burns may
occur.

PREPARING THE GENERATOR
Keep all the electrode cables untangled.
If using a footswitch, connect it to the appropriate instrument socket on the rear panel.
Connect the instrument to the appropriate instrument socket on the front panel.
For simultaneous coag monopolar surgery, connect monopolar accessory to the monopolar 1
Instrument socket & Connect monopolar accessory to the monopolar 2 Instrument socket.
For monopolar surgery only apply patient return electrode to patient & connect it to the Patient
Return Electrode socket on the front panel.
Verify or change the mode & power setting.
Optional-Press the Recall key on the front panel to display standard setting if required.
Optional-Press the Program key on main screen to display stored programs. Change the mode
or settings if required as surgical conditions & patient placement may require change in
settings. This also varies as individual skills, surgical conditions & patient placement may

B.
SETTING THE GENERATOR
1. Verify the generator is off by pressing the power switch OFF (0).
2. Place the generator on a stable flat surface, such as table, provide at least 4-6 inches of space
from the sides & top of the generator for cooling. Generally the top, sides & rear panel are
warm when the generator is used continuously for extended periods of time.
3. Plug the generator power cable into rear panel socket.
4. Plug the generator power cable into a grounded socket.
5. Turn on the generator by pressing the power switch ON (1). Verify the following:
a. All visual indicators & displays on the front panel illuminate.
b. Activation tones sound to verify that the speaker is working properly.
6. If self-test is successful, a tone sounds. Verify the following:
a.
Indicators above the default mode keys illuminate green.
b.
Each display shows a power setting of 1 watt.
