The properties of the various characteristic curves and their use are described on the
following page.
Properties of the characteristic
curve
Field of application/remarks
Standard level (black)
– Open-circuit voltage 100 kV
– Maximum current 120
μ
A
(current limitation at 120
μ
A)
– for poorly rechargeable types of powder
– for high powder application
– for high application effectiveness
– This setting corresponds to the usual WAGNER
high-voltage modules and control units.
Medium level (gray)
– Open-circuit voltage 100 kV
– Maximum current 120
μ
A
– for small surfaces
– for types of powder that recharge well
– for metallic powder to reduce the effects of
overcoating such as craters and orange peel
– Increasing the open-circuit voltage allows for a
greater distance between the spray gun and
the work piece while maintaining sufficient
powder charging.
Soft level (white)
– Open-circuit voltage 100 kV
– Maximum current 80
μ
A
– for types of powder that recharge well
– for small powder application
– for post-coatings
7.7 FLUSH FUNCTION
The EPG-SPRINT XE control unit has two different flush functions:
– hose flush function
– cleaning flush function
7.7.1 Hose Flush Function
This function blows dosing air through the powder feed hose and gun when the powder
feed is switched off (manual guns - releasing of trigger lever, automatic guns - signal from
controller).
