Decoding two streams over IP using VLC
Complete the following steps to decode two streams over IP using VLC Media Player.
1. VLC Media Player is a free, easy-to-use utility for decoding media streams including
H.264. Download the VLC Media Player at
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
2. Follow the installation instructions given with VLC.
3. Ensure that you have a GOP Length that is greater than zero on the Transmitter
Encoder Settings
screen (
Presets > Video Settings
).
4. Set transmitter output to Transport Stream over Ethernet (
Encoder Settings > Output
> TS over Ethernet
). Click the
Apply
button.
5. Start VLC Media Player. Select
Media > Open Network Stream
.

On the Network tab enter the Network URL: udp://192.168.1.105:1234 (this should
match the client IP address in the HDR-1000 Receiver
Presets > View/Edit > Video
Output > Client IP Address
.
7. Verify stream information in VLC by selecting
Tools > Codec Information > Codec

Select either of the two video streams from the VLC
Playback
menu.
NOTE
:
Do NOT set GOP Length to 0 (Transmitter Encoder Settings) when
using VLC Media Player. Setting GOP Length to 0 may cause VLC to perform
intermittently.
