4 xDSL / G.fast Testing

What’s new?

If your OneExpert instrument is configured and optioned to do so, the following features are

now available:

• G.fast testing

– The OneExpert can now support the installation, turn up, and

maintenance of high-speed G.fast per ITU-T G.9700 and G.9701 recommendations.

• VDSL 35b profile

– An optional 35b profile is now available for testing high speed Vplus

services per the ITU-T standard.

• OneCheck DSL

– The OneCheck DSL test is a Viavi single-pair and bonded DSL test for

ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL and G.fast designed to automate troubleshooting and close-out

testing during installation, repair and maintenance of DSL services, and easily provide a

pass/ fail status.

• DSLAM/DPU serial number support

– For OneCheck DSL and manual tests, you can

now see the Broadcom chipset serial number for the DSLAM / DPU port under test in

reports. This may help identify far-end units and is only available for the BCM63138

chipset.

• Ability to disable NAT

– When testing in Through-Router mode, you can now disable

NAT.

• XML output

– When generating DSL reports as XML output, all configuration settings

and graphs are included in the output.

• Automatically saving DSL results

– If you enable the corresponding setting when you

set up your instrument, your test results will automatically be saved on the instrument

whenever you run a DSL test or OneCheck DSL test. For details, see

• DSL/G.fast PHY updates

– xDSL and G.fast testing.

• SpeedCheck testing

– A new SpeedCheck application is used to test downstream and

upstream throughput via Ethernet or xDSL/G.fast test interfaces. SpeedCheck does not

support some network configurations on DSL. For details, see
