MPEG Decoder Playback Errors
MPEG Decoder Playback Errors
During the playback of MPEG files, decoder error conditions can result from a
lack of data or from an MPEG stream syntax error. These errors are not the result
of a bad SCSI command, but are a result of corrupt or insufficient data being sent
to the decoder. The only mechanism to report these errors back to the host system
is through the returned SCSI Status and subsequent request sense data.
The following is the priority of returned decoder playback status:
• A SCSI Check Condition, due to an error in the SCSI command, has priority
over playback errors.
• If the SCSI command would have reported Good status, then decoder play-
back errors are checked.
• The following commands report only the true SCSI command status (de-
coder playback error codes are not checked):
