PARAMETER EXPLANATION
LINE INFORMATION Screen (TLM)
The above screen representation describes the parameters that may be programmed on the Tone Line Module (TLM).
CARD ID NUMBER: Each card must have a unique ID number. The ID number may by any number between, and
including, 01 and 24. This number is used to identify the card to the software. In the above case the card ID is 05.
Each ID must have two digits. If the card ID is 00 then the card is disabled. Each card is shipped from the factory
with an ID of 00. Spare cards may be installed in the console and programmed with the ID of 00. They will lie inactive
until they are programmed with an ID number between 01 and 24.
Card description: This card has the label MT. WILSON. Whenever this card is Selected (and is the only card
Selected) the label MT. WILSON will appear on the main screen.
Card type: There are three types of cards – DEDICATED, TELEPHONE, and DIAL-UP. The TLM is considered a
dedicated line. This field is used in programming mode only to identify the card. This is done to avoid having the
programmer go to the back of the console to identify each card.
SELCALL: The TLM contains a DTMF select call function. This allows a mobile unit to call a specific card using a
four-digit DTMF code. When this DTMF code is received by the TLM, the TLM will blink its red SELECT light and
send a beep to the Unselect speaker. The beeping and flashing is reset under one of two conditions. The first is
when the console operator presses the SELECT button of the TLM that has received the call. The second is when
the AUTO RESET feature is enabled and a parallel console sends a PTT tone burst indicating that the parallel
console is answering the call. Note: It is not a requirement that all parallel TLM’s be programmed with the same
select call. In the above case a DTMF string of 1234 would activate the select call routine.
AUTO RESET: When a valid select call is decoded, visual and audio indication is given. When two parallel consoles
are programmed with the same select call code, they both will flash and beep. When AUTO RESET is enabled, the
flashing and beeping will stop if a parallel console transmits or if the Select button on the particular TLM is pressed.
When AUTO RESET is disabled, the flashing and beeping can be stopped only by pressing the Select button on
each TLM of each console.
