Machine Operation
Power is turned on by depressing the rocker switch on the
machine's back panel (see "On/Off Switch" on page 2-8). The green
LED on the control panel will be lit and the LCD will display
"READY". If it does not, refer to "Error Messages and Corrective
Procedures" on page 6-5.
In normal operation, the Ultre 3000/4000 is controlled by the host
system, and operational procedures are limited to the removal of
exposed film in the Take-up Cassette and replacement of the Take-
up Cassette on the machine.
The Take-up Cassette has a capacity of thirty feet of film. During
initial set up, job lengths should be limited to two feet or less
before developing, to prevent waste of film.
While printing is taking place, the Primary Drive Roller will be
advancing the film through the machine. The LED will be blinking
and the LCD will display "PRINTING".
When the job is finished, depress the Film Advance Button. This
will automatically advance the exposed film by the number of
inches that has been programmed into the film advance register
(the default advance is 12 inches; See Chapter 5, "Changing Default
Settings" for setting film advance length). This amount should be
sufficient enough to place the last exposed copy safely inside the
Take-up Cassette. Wait until the LCD displays "READY" and the
LED stops blinking before proceeding to the next step.
