PRECAUTIONS FOR USE AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR BABY TULA INFANT INSERT:
Read all instructions for Baby Tula Infant Insert and Carrier before assembling and using the Infant Insert.
Use Infant Insert for infants between 7 lbs (3.2 kg) and 15 lbs (6.8 kg), and these infants must be carried only in the front inward-facing carry position. Infants
more than 15 lbs (6.8 kg) but younger than 4 months or without strong and consistent head and neck control must continue using the Baby Tula Infant Insert
with the Carrier.
The Infant Insert is designed to provide head and neck support and to ensure your newborn is seated correctly while in the Baby Tula Carrier. All Infant Inserts
should only be used with the Baby Tula Carrier. The Infant Insert is ONLY intended to be used in the FRONT INWARD-FACING CARRY POSITION. Practice
putting on your Carrier before using the Infant Insert with the Carrier. For general information and detailed instructions for the front carry position, please refer
to the instructions for your Baby Tula Carrier. The leg position of the infant in the Infant Insert will change as your infant grows. The infant insert will support
your newborn’s thighs in a spread squat position, knees level with the belly button and legs resting on the sides of the infant insert inside the carrier. As your
infant grows, the knees will lower but still higher than the hips, and the legs will rest outside of the infant insert and the carrier. Ensure proper placement of
infant in product including leg placement. The infant’s position should be checked regularly to make sure that the infant is properly seated in the Infant Insert,
centered with legs in a spread-squat position and head upright and not slumping downward or to the side. Once baby is more than 15 lbs (6.8 kg) AND has
strong and consistent head and neck control, one can discontinue use of the Infant Insert. This is usually around 4 months. Ensure that the infant’s airway is
clear and that the infant is breathing normally at ALL TIMES. Infant’s chin should NEVER rest on infant’s chest because this partially closes infant’s airway.
There should be at least two fingers width clearance below infant’s chin. The infant insert must be worn in such a way that a baby can move his head without
pressing his face onto your body. Infant’s arms, legs and feet need to be observed regularly while in the Carrier to ensure that they are not constricted by the
Carrier. Premature infants, infants with respiratory problems, and infants under 4 months are at greatest risk of suffocation. The Infant Insert is not to be used
in lying or reclined position and outside of the carrier. Be aware that as the baby becomes more active, the child has more risk of falling out of the carrier and/
or infant insert.
Check for ripped seams, torn straps or fabric and damaged fasteners, or for any signs of wear and tear before each use. Discontinue use if the Infant lnsert
is damaged in anyway. The Infant Insert should not be used unless and until the wearer understands the instructions and safety features, and is confident
and comfortable with respect to the use of the Infant Insert. Discontinue use of the Infant Insert if the baby shows signs of discomfort while being carried for a
period of time until the baby can be carried without exhibiting discomfort. Keep the Infant Insert away from children when it is not in use. Child could become
too hot in this product. Please choose the right materials for the child to wear. Contact Baby Tula customer service representative for additional assistance if
needed. For additional tips, please visit www.babytula.com.
