TEST RESULTS
5.2 SUMMARY CATEGORY
The SUMMARY category displays the follow-
ing key non-zero or out-of-specification test results
without having to scroll through all of the categories
to find them.
BIT ERRORS
Bit Errors
— A count of received bits which
have a value opposite that of the corresponding
transmitted bits (one or zero) after pattern
synchronization is achieved.
VIOLATIONS
Bipolar Violations (BPVs)
— A count of BPVs
detected since the start of the test (excluding
intentional violations found within B8ZS coding).
FRM ERRORS
Frame Errors
— A count of the frame errors
detected since the start of the test and after frame
synchronization was achieved. For T1 D1D and
T1 D4 framing, frame errors are counted if
either an F
t
or an F
s
frame bit is in error. For T1
SLC framing, frame errors are counted only if an
error is found on an F
t
bit.
CRC ERRORS
Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) Errors
— A count of CRC errors detected. CRC
errors are counted only when ESF framing is
present in the received T1 data.
