6.9.1 _SINGLE-POINT CALIBRATION
If you only interest by the calibration of one point of measurement (normally the reference hearing point of
your system) you click already click on Calibrate. The system will automatically start on send MLS Burst
to your speakers.
!
NOTES:
• The calibration tool plays three MLS bursts for every speakers and subwoofers. If the calibration goes wrong, please see
the section 6.10.3 of this manual. The calibration will add the speaker position related to the reference point during the calibration.
The calibration status has 3 possible values:
•
Complete
: If no problem occurred during the measurement. After calibration, the system is calibrated but not
ready to be use, which means no sound can go through the processor until the optimization filters are computed.
•
Partial
: If the calibration was stopped in the middle of the measurement process.
•
None
: When no measurement has not been performed.
Once the status of the calibration indicates complete, you can click on Next. Since there is only one measurement
point, you can jump the weighting step.
6.9.2 _MULTI-POINT CALIBRATION
One of the most advanced features of the Altitude
16
is its unique multi-point measurement technology.
Instead of using an averaged response out of multiple measurement points, the Trinnov Multi-point Algo-
rithm is able to take every single measurement point into account.
The purpose of multi-point measurement is not only to optimize a wider listening area but also to get more infor-
mation from measurements and increase reliability by taking into account important variations in the listening
area.
!
NOTE: The multi-point approach ensures a more reliable calibration but choosing relevant microphone positions is highly
critical.
There are no fixed rules about choosing multi-point measurement positions. However, making measurement out-
side of the area covered by the speakers can be considered as irrelevant.
