This section w ill provide basic inform ation on chiller
operation for com m on events. With m icroelectronic
controls, ladder diagram s cannot show today’s com plex
logic, as the control functions are m uch m ore involved
than older pneum atic or solid state controls.
Chiller Sequence of Operation
Adaptive control algorithm s can also com plicate the exact
sequence of operation. This section illustrates com m on
control sequences.
Software Operation Overview Diagram
Figure 41
is a diagram of the five possible software states.
This diagram can be thought of as a state chart, w ith the
arrow s, and arrow text, depicting the transitions betw een
states.
Descriptions
•
The text in the circles are the internal software
designations for each state.
•
The first line of text in the circles are the visible top
level operating m odes that can be displayed on Tracer
AdaptiView.
•
The shading of each software state circle corresponds
to the shading on the tim e lines that show the state that
the chiller is in.
