Power Supply Wiring
N ot e: Graphic labels (show n above) are used for CE
application only.
Im port ant :
•
Before servicing, disconnect all pow er sources and
allow at least 30 m inutes for capacitors to discharge.
•
All electrical enclosures—unit or rem ote—are IP2X.
Three-Phase Power
Review and follow the guidelines below to properly install
and connect the pow er supply w iring to the starter panel:
•
Verify that the starter nam eplate ratings are
com patible w ith the pow er supply characteristics and
w ith the electrical data on the unit nam eplate.
•
Do not m odify or cut enclosure to provide electrical
access. Rem ovable panels have been provided, and
any m odification should be done away from the
enclosure. If the starter enclosure m ust be cut to
provide electrical access, exercise care to prevent
debris from falling inside the enclosure.
•
Use copper conductors to connect the three-phase
pow er supply to the rem ote- or unit-m ounted starter
panel.
•
Flexible conduit connections are recom m ended to
enhance serviceability and m inim ize vibration
transm ission.
•
Size the pow er supply w iring in accordance w ith NEC
and local guidelines, using the RLA value stam ped on
the chiller nam eplate and transform er load on L1 and
L2.
•
Confirm that w ire size is com patible w ith lug size stated
in unit subm ittal.
•
M ake sure that the incom ing pow er w iring is properly
phased; each pow er supply conduit run to the starter
m ust carry the correct num ber of conductors to ensure
equal phase representation.
N ot e: Connect L1, L2, and L3 (show n below ) per
starter diagram provided w ith chiller.
WARNING
Proper Field Wiring and Grounding
Required!
Failure to follow code could result in death or serious
injury. All field w iring M UST be performed by qualified
personnel. Improperly installed and grounded field
w iring poses FIRE and ELECTROCUTION hazards. To
avoid these hazards, you M UST follow requirements for
field w iring installation and grounding as described in
NEC and your local/ state/ national electrical codes.

NOTICE:
Starter Component Damage!
Failure to remove debris from inside the starter panel
could result in an electrical short and could cause
serious starter component damage.
NOTICE:
Use Copper Conductors Only!
Failure to use copper conductors could result in
equipment damage as unit terminals are not designed
to accept other types of conductors.
