Connecting Components

Adding SCSI I/O devices

Insert the SCSI device into the slot and secure it with two screws.

Inserting the SCSI device

Connect the power cable and the signal cable to the SCSI device.

Reinstall the front and side panels. For instructions, see

Removing and replacing

the server panels

on page 33.

Removing SCSI devices

Review the precautions described in

Before you start

on page 29 in this chapter before

removing any SCSI device.

Remove the front and side panel. For instructions, see

Removing and replacing the

server panels

on page 33.

Remove the two screws securing SCSI device with metal fittings and partially extract
the SCSI device.

Disconnect the power cable and the signal cable from the device.

Remove the SCSI device.

Install the shield cover and secure it with screws.

Install a blank panel in the empty slot in the bezel.

Reinstall the front and side panel. For instructions, see

Removing and replacing the

server panels

on page 33.
