CAUTION
If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone could accidently start the engine and seriously injure
you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect the wire from the spark plug(s) before you perform any
maintenance. Set the wire aside so that it does not accidentally contact the spark plug.

Releasing the Mower-Deck
Curtain
Loosen the bottom bolt of the curtain to release the
mower-deck curtain and get access to the top of the mower
deck (
). After performing maintenance, install the
curtain and tighten the bolt.

Removing the Sheet-Metal
Guard
Loosen the 2 front bolts and remove the sheet-metal guard
to access the mower belts and spindles (
). After
performing maintenance, install the sheet-metal guard and
tighten the bolts.
