31.3. Note on Using a Windows Vista PC
When download is executed from the playback transmission of the Web server function on a Windows Vista
PC, download may not be executed correctly depending on protection mode function in the browser and
access restrictions on the folder to save images. When using download function, activate the browser as
"Execute as an Administrator" while deactivating the protection mode.
Notes
• Windows Vista has protection mode in the browser.
• Protection mode functions to make the installation of malicious software which infects a PC more difficult.
Protection mode for Internet, Intranet, and limited access site is preset to ON.
• Neither Windows 2000 nor Windows XP has protection mode function.
31.3.1. How to activate the browser as "Execute as an Administrator"
1. Right-click the browser's icon, then select "Execute as an Administrator" from the menu.
"User account control" dialog is displayed.
2. Select "Authorized" when logging in to the PC as "Administrator User," or "OK" after entering an
administrator user password when logging in as a user.
Browser activates with its protection mode invalid. Protection mode status is displayed in the browser's
status bar.
Note:
It is not displayed when the status bar is set to "Hide."
31.3.2. Message display of playback transmission
For playback transmission of the Web server function, caution message on using Windows Vista is displayed.
Also, an error message is displayed when download cannot be executed.
Clicking the "Playback Transmission" after successful login displays the security screen. Clicking the
"Execute" button displays "Precautions when downloading" screen.
Click the "OK" button to display playback screen.
Note
This message is also displayed on a Windows 2000 PC or Windows XP PC. It is also displayed regardless of
the protection mode status.
When download is executing from playback transmission, the download error message shown below is
displayed and download stops if the folder to save images is not "Write-enabled."
In such cases, specify the write-enabled folder, then execute the download again.
