The Kalypso system Joystick is a precision three-axis device. Moving the
joystick towards or away from you controls the Y-axis, moving the Joystick
left and right controls the X-axis, and rotating the Joystick controls the Z-

The
Turbo
button on the top of the Joystick can be used to accelerate the
change of the delegated parameter, to allow quicker placement on the
screen.
The
Turbo
button is also used to pick a backing color when auto setting up
a chroma key.
Joystick Delegation
Because the Transform subpanel Joystick acts as a positioner for many dif-
ferent functions, multiple stages of delegation can be required to access and
control a specific set of parameters. Different types of delegation are avail-
able, depending on the parameters being controlled. Joystick delegation is
similar to that used in the Mattes subpanel. Delegations are made by
selecting individual buttons in separate delegation button groups. The
individual Joystick delegation buttons are discussed in detail later in this
section.
The Transform subpanel delegation buttons have three tally levels, corre-
sponding to the condition of that delegation. A lit button indicates the
current delegation. If the delegation is valid, the button will high tally. If the
delegation is invalid, the button will low tally (delegated but not active).
Low tally can occur if you attempt to delegate the joystick to a resource like
a Transform Engine that is not present. Low tally can also occur when the
