Keypad Numeric Entry Buttons
The E-MEM keypad has 12 numeric entry buttons (
0-9
,
Undo/•
,
Enter
) and
five prefix buttons. The prefix buttons are used to delegate the keypad to
different numeric entry functions (see below).
Same Bank Effect Recall
The default use of the keypad when a prefix button is not active is to recall
an effect to that M/E. Rapid effects recall is accomplished by organizing the
registers as ten banks of ten registers each.
Registers in the same bank are recalled by simply pressing one of the
0-9
buttons on the E-MEM keypad. This provides immediate, single button
access to ten effects. For example, if bank four is currently active, pressing
the
6
button immediately recalls register 46. Effects from other banks are
recalled using prefix buttons, described below.
Up Arrow Bank Button
The
↑
Bank
prefix button operates as a shift button to provide two modes of
operation for other buttons. The actual operating mode is determined by
what other button is pressed next.
The first operating mode is used to specify a bank number. Pressing the
↑
Bank
button so it lights causes the next
0-9
number button pressed to be
interpreted as a bank number. Any bank can be selected for next use by
pressing:
↑
Bank, bank number
The
0-9
buttons are used to select the bank. Pressing the number button
completes the bank selection operation (the
Enter
key is not used). For
example, for the Recall operation, pressing the following buttons will recall
a register from another bank.
↑
Bank, bank number, register number
The selected bank is shown on the E-MEM Readout display (see
). This bank selection process is available on the
E -MEM subpanel for Recall, Learn, Sequence, and Effect Dissolve opera-
tions. The direct bank selection buttons are also available for quicker bank
selection (see below).
The second operating mode for the

Bank
button is to shift the
Lock/Learn
and

• button functions. The shifted function for these buttons are
selected when they are pressed while the
↑
Bank
button is lit.
