Entering a CalWord
A password may be used to add extra security to the Calibration with a
“CALWORD”,
see Chapter 4, User Program, Create/Edit CalWord/
PassWord/LogWord. If turned on, a code must be entered before the user may
perform a calibration.
To enter a CalWord (if activated):
1. If the CalWord function is enabled, the display reads
“CAL WORD”
and
“* * *”
as the calibration procedure begins. The cursor is on the
first asterisk.
2. Press
↑
or
↓
to scroll to the correct character.
3. Press
→
to accept. The cursor moves to the next character.
4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all three characters are accepted. If correct,
the next display reads
“AUTOCAL”
. If the CalWord is incorrect, the
display reads
“BEGIN CAL”
message. Begin at step 1 to start over.
Conversion Factors
Because the instrument is calibrated with hexane, a conversion factor must
be applied when measuring other gases. Refer to Table B-2 for the
conversion factors. Thermo Fisher Scientific provides estimates of these
values, but the response varies from instrument to instrument and these data
should be used for estimation purposes only.
CAUTION
Note that the response varies from one sensor to another and the
relative response of a sensor can change with the age of the sensor.
These data should be used for estimation purposes only.
