EFD-750 ELECTRONIC FLIGHT DISPLAY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

General
A.
This section gives the removal and installation procedures for the EFD-750 Electronic Flight Display
(EFD) (UI011). For a general description of the EFD, refer to L3Harris Electronic Flight Display System
- Description and Operation.

3.
EFD-750 Electronic Flight Display Removal/Installation
A.
Remove the EFD-750 Electronic Flight Display (Refer to Figure 401).
(1)
Remove the electrical power from the airplane.
(2)
Make sure that the BATTERY switch and the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch on the ELECTRICAL
POWER switch panel in the cockpit are at the OFF position.
(3)
Disengage the STBY FLT DISPLAY circuit breaker on the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit.
(4)
Remove the plug from the electronic flight display (EFD) (UI013).
(5)
Remove the screw that attaches the EFD to the fire tray.
(6)
Pull the EFD aft to get access to the electrical connector (PI062).
(a)
If necessary, remove the pilot's primary flight display (PFD) to get better access to the
electrical connector and hoses. Refer to Chapter 34, Garmin GDU 1400W/1450W Flight
Display - Removal/Installation.
(7)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the EFD.
(8)
Disconnect the pitot hose and the static hose from the EFD.
(9)
Remove the EFD from the airplane.
(10) Put protective covers on the electrical connector and the open ports.
B.
Install the EFD-750 Electronic Flight Display (Refer to Figure 401).
(1)
Remove the protective covers from the electrical connector (PI062) and the open ports.
(2)
Make sure that the configuration module (PI065) is correctly installed in the electrical connector.
Refer to Chapter 34, DCM-750 Configuration Module - Removal/Installation.
(3)
Put the electronic flight display (EFD) (UI013) near its mounting position in the fire tray.
(4)
Connect the pitot hose and the static hose to the EFD.
(5)
Connect the electrical connector (PI062) to the EFD.
(6)
Put the EFD in its position in the fire tray.
(7)
Loosely install the screw that attaches the EFD to the fire tray.
(a)
Torque the screw to between 5.0 and 8.0 inch pounds (0.6 and 0.9 N-m). Refer to the
Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Torque Data - Maintenance Practices.
(b)
Install the plug to the EFD screw hole.
(8)
Do an electrical bond check (Type I) between the EFD and the fire tray. Refer to the Citation
Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical Bonding and Grounding - Maintenance
Practices.
(9)
If removed, install the pilot's primary flight display (PFD). Refer to Chapter 34, Garmin GDU
1400W/1450W Flight Display - Removal/Installation.
(10) Engage the STBY FLT DISPLAY circuit breaker on the left circuit breaker panel in the cockpit.
(11) Do the EFD-750 Software and Configuration Loading Procedures. Refer to Chapter 34, L3Harris
Electronic Flight Display System - Adjustment/Test.
(12) Do the L3Harris Electronic Flight Display System Operational Check. Refer to Chapter 34,
L3Harris Electronic Flight Display System - Adjustment/Test.
