Adjusting the Extension Spring
• The spring under the cover is there to
adjust extension assist.
• A cap screw with a scale (15), which
can be used to adjust the initial ten
sion of the spring, is part of the front
spring (orange).
• Use the enclosed adjustment key to
make any adjustements: Insert the key
into one of the holes in the cap screw.
• Turn the cap screw clockwise: Initial
tension is increased, more flexion
resistance when flexion is initiated.
• Turn the cap screw anticlockwise: In
itial tension is decreased, less flexion
resistance when flexion is initiated.
• Please note: A weaker spring is
enclosed with every KnieAgil® R1.
This spring, however, should only
be used when the initial tension is
too strong for the user although the
spring has been set to the lowest
initial tension possible.
Clockwise: More Initial Tension
AntiClockwise: Less Initial Tension
Replacing the Spring
• The spring may only be replaced
while there is no weight put on the
joint. Use the enclosed adjustment
key to replace the spring. Insert the
key into one of the adjustment holes
of the cap screw.
