Adjusting the Extension Speed
The extension assist spring is located in the
distal pylon adapter. It can be adjusted by way
of a slotted screw. The extension assist is set
to a medium extension speed upon delivery.
Tighten the screw Higher extension speed
Loosen the screw Lower extension speed
TIP: Replacing the Extension
Assist Spring
The WLD31 comes with an additional,
softer spring (REF KA.EA073). We recom
mend using this softer spring in case the
anterior stop feels too intense.
Adjusting Axis Friction for
Flexion Damping
An Allen screw labeled „#1“ is visible in
the posterior rubber coating. This screw
can be used to adjust the axis friction,
which dampens the flexion of the joint.
Tighten the screw Stronger flexion
damping
Loosen the screw Less flexion damping

User Manual WLD31
The lock of the WLD 31 offers two functions:
1.
When the joint is unlocked with the
cable, the patient can flex his knee.
Once the knee is extended, it will auto
matically and audibly lock again.
2.
There is one Allen screw to the left and
one to the right of the lock. With these
screws, the lock can be permanently
deactivated. Always tighten these
screws evenly.
Please note:
The lock should only be
deactivated once the patient is able to
safely walk and stand without a joint lock.
Static Fitting
Upon delivery, every joint is set to a
basic setting.
Ask the patient to stand up. Remain close,
so you can support the patient if necessary.
Individually adjust all components until
the patient is able to stand securely.
Optional adjustments are described in
the section “Dynamic Fitting”.
Dynamic Fitting
The following joint settings can be adjus
ted if desired. We recommend following the
suggested order of adjustments.
