Removing the old 1

HEPA filter sections of a pressure frame
•
Remove the pressure frame of a filter section;
•
Seal both the openings of the two HEPA filters with DUCT-tape or similar, in order to isolate
the contaminated side of these two HEPA filters from the environment;
•
Remove the first HEPA filter and put it in an appropriate plastic bag;
•
Fold back the edge of the plastic bag, not touching the inner side of the plastic bag;
•
Press the air out of the bag (with its opening still in the working space);
•
Seal the plastic bag airtight;
•
Remove the plastic bag and place it in an appropriate container;
•
Remove the second HEPA filter and put it in an appropriate plastic bag;
•
Fold back the edge of the plastic bag, not touching the inner side of the plastic bag;
•
Press the air out of the bag (with its opening still in the working space);
•
Seal the plastic bag airtight;
•
Remove the plastic bag and place it in an appropriate container;
•
Remove the gloves and put them in the appropriate container.
Position the new 1

•
Put on new gloves;
•
Place two new HEPA filters. Take care that the top side of the filters are level with the top side
of the filter casing. If a filter is lower then tape should be applied to the bottom of the filter to
make sure that the topsides of both filter and filter casing are level;
•
Place the pressure frame back;

•
Place the pre-filter wire mesh, the pre-filter itself and the work top back.
Integrity test
•
Perform an Integrity test according to the procedure described in
Appendix IV: Efficiency test
of the HEPA filters
on page 74.
