Position the new downflow HEPA filter
•
Unpack the new filter, check specifications and register the serial number and specifications;
•
Filter certificate has to be stored on a safe place;
•
Put Vaseline on the seal of the HEPA filter (both sides);
•
Position the HEPA filter (take care for possible damage of the sealings!);
•
Reposition the plenum downwards and remove the “filter exchange set”;
•
Reposition the pressure bars and fasten the bolts;
•
Reposition the front panel;
•
Reposition the safety plate for the electronics;
•
Put off your gloves and put these in an appropriate bag;
•
Hinge the top hood down;
•
Put the aerofoil back in position;
•
Put the window into working position;
•
Place the power plug in the supply socket and switch on the installation;
•
Perform an Integrity test according to the procedure described in
Appendix IV: Efficiency test
of the HEPA filters
on page
74

Replacement of the exhaust HEPA filter
For replacement of the exhaust HEPA filter the following procedure must be followed:
Supplies needed:
•
Plastic bag with closure (minimum measurement depends on the volume of the HEPA filter);
•
Two pairs of gloves;
•
Semi-facial mask with HEPA filters;
•
Tools (knife, spanner or socket wrench, alien key);
•
Tape;
•
Chemical disposal container or chemical disposal procedure.
Removing the old exhaust HEPA filter
•
Decontaminate the cabinet;
•
Switch off the installation and plug out the power plug;
•
Put on the gloves and keep an extra pair ready for use;
•
Put on your breathe protection e.g. with a semi-facial mask with HEPA filters;
•
In case the cabinet is connected to an external exhaust channel, disconnect the cabinet from
this exhaust channel;
•
Remove the nuts support plate of the exhaust HEPA filter;
•
Remove the support plate of the exhaust HEPA filter;
•
Remove the HEPA filter;
•
Put the HEPA filter in an appropriate bag;
•
Seal the plastic bag airtight;
•
Remove the gloves and put them in the appropriate container.
