Maintenance
Hydraulic system
The backhoe is generally provided with "Tellus 68" (Shell) hydraulic oil, but an
equivalent one can be used (ISO VG 68).
• Oil reservoir capacity: 55 liters.
• Total capacity: 65 liters, approximately.
• The oil level must be checked daily, with all the cylinder rods retracted (backhoe
lifted).
• Try to maintain the average level indicated on the rod.
Changing oil and filter:
• First change: 50 (fifty) hours of operation.
• Other changes: 250 (two hundred and fifty) hours of operation or in three months.
Hydraulic system pressure:
The stickers on each control shows the functioning of the levers and the recommended
working pressure, which is factory adjusted for all controls.
If required, the pressure can only be checked by a qualified person using a pressure
gauge, which is to be installed in the pressure line between the line pump and the control.
Hoses, cylinders, pumps and similars do not require periodic maintenance, but they
should be kept in good conditions.
NOTE
The hydraulic control housing of the stabilizer arms are adjusted by the
main valve in the control inlet.
Hydraulic system drainage
• To drain all the oil inside the reservoir, fully activate the cylinders in order to open
them.
• Activate the levers and let the equipment do slow movements by gravity, thus closing
the cylinders.
• Loosen the plug and drain all the oil, collecting it in a proper container. After this,
remove the filter.
• Spread oil at the new filter sealing and assemble it.
• Place the plug again and fill up the reservoir with oil (ISO VG 68).
