Your telephone can be set up to use one or all (if your Transfer COS is defined as ALL) of the following three-party transfer

Each action is performed by first pressing

(transfer) or
XFER
; however, for stations where Auto Transfer is defined
(in the Class of Service), transfer will take place as soon as the required number is dialled. Auto Transfer is effective for one
transfer only. Subsequent actions require pressing

Broker Call
Put a call on hold and then converse privately with a third party, while switching between the two calls.
The party not in conversation is automatically put on hold and cannot hear any other conversation.
See
Consultation Call
Consult with a third party. While consulting, the original caller will be put on hold. After consultation is
complete the two original parties will be reconnected and the consulted party is then released. See
Transfer: Consultation on page 212
.
3-Way Conference
Call
Bring a third party into an ongoing conversation. All three parties can converse in a three party
conference. See
Transfer: 3-Way Conference on page 212
.
Combination of
Consultation/
Broker/
3-Way Conference
Change a conversation from broker to consultation to 3-way conference by pressing
[Xfer]
or
XFER
while in conversation. The first transfer allows you to converse privately with a third party.
The second transfer allows you to speak privately with the original party, while the third party is put on
hold. The third transfer places you in a 3-way conversation with all parties.
Continuous
Conference
Continue adding participants to an established 3-way call, effectively turning the call into a multi-party
conference call (up to 6 or 15 members, depending on system hardware). The multi-party conference
call is locked to all exterior parties. See
Continuous Conference: Creating a multi-party conference call
from a 3-Way call: on page 128
