Chapter 3. Installation
Before Installing the Boron Analyzer
Site Requirements
Selecting the proper location for this Analyzer is important to its performance, reliability, and operational
life. In evaluating the placement of the Analyzer, consult the following checklist and refer to the Analyzer
layout shown in Figure 1: UPW Boron Analyzer:
•
No direct sun light exposure
•
Ambient temperatures must be between 10 and 40 °C
•
Environmental temperature variations should be minimal
•
Exposure to a relative humidity range of 0% to 80%, non-condensing (80% maximum for
temperatures up to 31 °C, decreasing linearly to 50% at 40 °C)
•
A non-corrosive atmosphere; located away from excessive HCl acid or other corrosive vapors
•
Located away from excessive EMI (electromagnetic interference)
•
Located away from, or isolated from, excessive vibration
There must be a minimum of 1 cm clearance between the back of the Analyzer and the wall for heat
dissipation. Allow 30 cm of clearance on the sides and top of the Analyzer for the plumbing and electrical
connections. Allow 30 cm from the bottom of the Analyzer, or shelf on which it sits, to the drain. Allow
38 cm of clearance in the front of the Analyzer to allow for access to the inside of the Analyzer.
If mounting the Analyzer to a wall or Analyzer rack, use a large Phillips screwdriver to attach mounting
brackets to the back of the Analyzer and hardware to attach these brackets to the wall or rack.
