Chapter 3: Installation
Figure 4: Location of Priming Valve
To prime the pump:
1. Turn on the Analyzer and open the Analyzer door. The reagent pump should be running even
though the Analyzer is in a
Standby
condition.
2. Turn the valve to the closed (vertical) position.
3. Wait 10–15 seconds.
4. Turn the valve to the open (horizontal) position.
5. Wait 10–15 seconds.
6. Repeat Steps 2 through 5 ten times.
7. Leave the valve in the open position and close the door.
This procedure clears most of the air from the pump head and allows for better performance of the reagent
pump.
Note:
Proper operation of the reagent pump can be verified by observing reagent
splashing down into the reagent reservoir. In some instances, it may take
several hours for the reagent pump to fully prime and achieve maximum reagent
flow. Normal operation can proceed even during reduced reagent flow due to the
small volumes of reagent actually used during analysis. If flow of reagent into the
top of the reagent reservoir is not observed after 12 hours of operation, contact
Technical Support or your local service provider.
