3 Transport and storage
3.1
Special safety guidelines
DANGER
Risk of accidents when standing under suspended loads
When lifting, lowering and pivoting loads, there is a risk to life due to parts falling down or moving in
an uncontrolled manner.
► Heavy parts have threaded bores for the safe fixing of suitable slinging equipment. Observe the
information for the slinging points provided.
► Threaded bores on components are only intended to be used for lifting the individual components
or assembly groups, and not for lifting the entire machine.
CAUTION
Risk of accidents due to non-observance of the safety guidelines
There is a risk of accidents if the general safety guidelines are not observed.
► All safety guidelines must be observed, see section 2.
3.1.1
Critical centre of gravity points
CAUTION
Risk of accidents caused by moving loads when lifting, lowering and pivoting
As a result of the design, it is not always possible to move loads attached to the slinging points in a
safe centre of gravity. A change of position can lead to an uncontrolled movement of the load that
may then cause injuries.
► Perform the lifting, lowering and pivoting of loads only with great caution. This avoids greater ac-
celerating forces.
3.2
Transport
NOTE
Be particularly careful when transporting the brake in order to avoid damage caused by external
forces or careless loading and unloading. Depending on the type and duration of the transportation,
corresponding transportation locks have been provided. Remove the transport lock only when begin-
ning the assembly.
During transportation, avoid:
► water condensation resulting from severe temperature fluctuations,
► impacts.
