2. Slowly release the hydraulic/pneumatic system.
3. Carry out disassembly of the brake in reverse order of assembly, see section 6.4.
ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD
Collect any potentially leaking auxiliary and operating materials.
RECYCLING
Dispose of auxiliary and operating materials according to the local guidelines in a
correct and environmentally-friendly way.
8.4.2
Replace the disc pack
DANGER
Risk of accidents caused by components subjected to spring pressure
Disassembly work on the brakes that is not carried out correctly may lead to the sudden release of
the pressure springs, which can lead to serious injuries.
► Any disassembly or maintenance work should be carried out by Stromag. For this purpose, re-
quest a qualified specialist approved by Stromag or remove the brake, see section 8.4.1, and send
it to Stromag, see section 11.2.
► The procedure described in this documentation must be followed precisely.
Disassembly of
the brake
1. Disassemble brake, see section 8.4.1.
Disassembly of
the piston (con-
struction with cir-
clip)
DANGER
Risk of accidents caused by components
subjected to spring pressure
Disassembly work on the brakes that is not carried out
correctly may lead to the sudden release of the pres-
sure springs, which can lead to serious injuries.
► Before disassembly of the circlip (22), appropriate
pressure must be exerted from outside on the
disc (21) to prevent sudden relieving of the pressure
springs (7)/(8).
1. Remove the circlip (22).
2. Pull the disc (21) out.
3. Remove the piston (2) together with the pressure
springs (7)/(8) from the outer body (3).
