Special safety guidelines
CAUTION
Risk of accidents due to non-observance of the safety guidelines
There is a risk of accidents if the general safety guidelines are not observed.
► All safety guidelines must be observed, see section 2.
7.2
Initial commissioning
Removal of the
laminated pro-
tective foil
The product designation for some components is done through the laminated protective label.
These labels consist of a self-adhesive polyester foil, for which the print image is protected
from external effects by a transparent foil. As the products are partially laminated only after
the designation, the labels are equipped with a second, lightly removable laminated protec-
tive foil. This can be easily removed after lamination using a handy tap. If the laminated pro-
tective foil is not removed, it automatically comes away after 1 to 2 years, as it is not equip-
ped with a long-lasting glue.
NOTICE
Damage to the surrounding construction due to failure to remove laminated
protective foil
The laminated protective foil can detach and lead to the following damage to the surrounding
construction, when not removed.
► Detach the laminated protective foil using the handy tap.
1. Detach the laminated protective foil (if present) using the handy tap.
Flushing of the
hydraulic/pneu-
matic system
NOTICE
Damage to the brake due to contaminated pressurised medium
When the pressurised medium system is flushed by the customer, this may cause contamina-
tion of the pressurised medium. This must not enter the brake.
► The pressurised medium system must be flushed by the customer before being connected
to the brake.
1. Flush the entire pressurised medium system before connection to the brake.
Carrying out in-
spection work
1. Check whether the brake is tightly screwed to the adjacent components.
2. Carry out a leak test and a performance check.
Carrying out a
test run
1. Carry out a test run.
2. Carry out a leak test and a performance check.
7.3
Duty cycle, switching frequency and switching times
For information on the duty cycle, switching frequency and switching times, see Chapter 4.
If the brake is to be used as a working brake, then you must contact Stromag's Customer Care, see section 11.2
for the address.
7.4
Temporary decommissioning
No specific measures are necessary for temporary decommissioning.
