Operators are not allowed underneath the Freedomlift for inspections, this may
only be done by qualified personnel.
9.8 Replacing the cylinder
To remove the cylinder:
1. Move the guide pieces to the lowest position.
2. Remove the potentiometer wires from the guide pieces.
3. Raise the guide pieces to the highest position.
4. Support each guide piece with a stable vertical beam that keeps the guide
piece at the maximum height.
The weight of the guide piece with the arms is approx. 350 kg.
5. Remove the adapter plate by loosening the two M10x40 mm hexagonal
screws.
6. Place the adapter plate on the edge of the rod guide
7. Use the lowering valve to let the cylinder liner drop. Help it along if
necessary.
8. Disconnect the oil line and seal it.
9. Lift the cylinder out of the base plate and tilt it out of the guide piece.
The cylinder weighs approx. 30 kg.
To mount the cylinder:
1. Set the guide piece almost at the maximum height and support it.
2. Tilt the cylinder into the guide piece and position it in the base plate.
Place the adapter plate in front of the cylinder.
