3.3 PREPARING S-FTP CABLE
Prerequisites
See below the prerequisites before starting cable installation:

Estimate the number of S-FTP cable(s) you will need according to the topology you want
to implement.

Measure the length of S-FTP cables taking in consideration the following:
o
Due to Electrical ETH limitation the S-FTP cable length between SM CIRIUS AO up to
network equipment should not exceed 100 m.
o Due to Power limitation the S-FTP cable length between SM CIRIUS up to PoE OUT
receptacle should not exceed the following distances

Use only straight-through Ethernet cables to connect PoE device to SM
CIRIUS AO
(For Ethernet straight connection please follow the step 6 on the
following procedure)
Use of cross-over Ethernet cables between PoE device and SM CIRIUS
AO creates system malfunction.
After preparation of the Ethernet cables and before installing them to the
devices, use the Ethernet tester in order to check the cable construction
(straight connectivity and no losses).
