sync (Sync lamp turns red) or when the scheduled Time Verification call occurs, the modem
automatically dials NIST again. If connection is made, holdover is restored (Sync lamp flashes
green again).
Verify proper operation of the modem by observing the status of the front panel sync lamp
flashing green after connection to NIST and verifying the Model dial-out logs. The Modem
Dialout Log (Figure 7-11) is a running list of the NetClock’s modem activity. This log will have
no activity if the NetClock is not equipped with a modem or if the modem has not yet been used.
