Install the Null Modem Serial Cable
The
null
modem
serial
cable
allows
the
primary
and
secondary
master
nodes
to
communicate
with
one
another.
Use
the
instructions
in
this
section
to
install
the
serial
cable.
1.
Locate
the
serial
port
on
the
back
of
the
primary
master
node
.
2.
Connect
one
end
of
the
cable
to
the
serial
port
in
the
primary
master
node
,
and
using
your
fingers,
secure
the
cable
to
the
chassis.
3.
Connect
the
other
end
of
the
cable
to
the
serial
port
in
the
secondary
master
node
,
and
using
your
fingers,
secure
the
cable
to
the
chassis.
Cable the Master Nodes to the Expansion Nodes
The
master
nodes
must
be
cabled
to
the
expansion
nodes
in
order
to
access
the
drives
installed
in
the
expansion
nodes.
Use
the
instructions
in
this
section
to
cable
the
master
nodes
to
the
expansion
nodes.
