On-site Spare Drives
—Spectra Logic provides spare drives–one boot drive, one
data drive. A spare drive can be used to immediately replace a failed drive in the
system, restoring full data protection in a timely manner. The drive that had the
failure can be returned to Spectra Logic for replacement, as long as it is under
warranty or a current support contract.
Software and Firmware Updates
—Spectra Logic provides updates to software and
firmware as they become available.

Requirements for Service
All SpectraGuard service options have the following requirements.
Coverage Area
The nTier300 VTL must be located in an approved coverage area. Contact SpectraGuard
Technical Support for coverage verification. If your site is not in an approved
geographical area, you may request approval. The approval may take up to five business
days. Approval is dependent upon your site’s proximity to a major metropolitan area.
Most on-site service contracts are approved for sites located in North America and the
European Union. Contact your local Spectra Logic sales representative for locations
outside of North America and the European Union.
On-site Service Considerations for Parts Replacement
An on-site service provider will be dispatched by Spectra Logic Technical Support once
a determination has been made that a component of the unit requires replacement.
Support Activation Period
Service may require 30 days to take effect from the date of initial purchase. During this
30-day period, the nTier300 VTL is covered by the SpectraGuard Standard option.
Renewals of existing SpectraGuard Premier contracts will continue without interruption.
Product Relocation
Contact SpectraGuard Technical Support for approval before you relocate your
nTier300 VTL. Relocating the nTier300 VTL without Spectra Logic’s knowledge will
void the support contract.
