To apply the “Pump up to” load selected, press the start button (

11

).

The press motor will start and the Display Screen (

4

) will show a status

of “Load Rising” and a RUN status symbol is illuminated. The Applied
Tons indicator (top left side of the screen) will change from 0.0 and rise
in value as the “Pump up to” load begins to take effect.

During the

application of the load, there is a change in the position of illumination
of the Increase/Set Load symbol from the main Menu Bar to beside the
“Pump up to” load indicator. When the full “Pump up to” load has been
applied the illumination of the Increase/Set Load symbol will cease

The RUN status symbol remains illuminated.

The Maintain Load Hold Time with auto “top up” symbol will now
illuminate below the Increase/Set Load symbol and be displayed for a
hold time of infinity. The Hold Time function is the next segment of the
PZ Simple Operation Program and the segment S1 will now be
indicated in place of S0. (The Hold Time is halted when the release
button (

12

) is pressed). The status of the press will show the Applied

Load as being the same as the “Pump up to” load value.

When the load has been held for the required duration, release it by
pressing the release button (

12

). The Release function is the next

segment of the PZ Simple Operation Program and the segment S2 will
now be indicated in place of S1. The Maintain Load Hold Time with
auto “top up” symbol will cease illumination and the Display Screen (

4

will now show the Fast Release symbol and message “releasing to 0.0
T” illuminated below the Unlimited Hold Time symbol. An additional
message status “Fast Release” will be illuminated. When the Applied
Load has dropped significantly the message status of “Fast Release”
will change to “Piston Retract”. During these functions the Increase/Set
Load symbol will have scrolled upwards and disappear from the
Display Screen. The End-stop symbol will appear on the Display
Screen as the symbols scroll up.

After the Release function has completed and the internal valves are
closed, the Display Screen (

4

) will show the last “Pump up to” load

value input on the press, but the applied load will be at 0.0 Tons. The
Atlas™ Auto T40 press will now show illumination of the left button,
right button and accept button symbols, (these are prompt signals to
indicate the next possible step) and also the “Rdy” or RDY” status
