Neutral Adjustments
NEUTRAL ADJUSTMENT CONT.
Hydro-Gear 216-3010L
Perform the following adjustment if the shift lever must be
moved out of the neutral gate to prevent forward or
reverse tractor movement. (With the clutch/
brake pedal released, a small amount of travel in the shift
lever may be required to fully stop tractor.)
1. Position unit on flat, level ground. Make sure the shift
lever is positioned in the neutral gate.
2. Raise the rear of tractor off the ground, and support it
securely with jackstands so that the rear wheels are
free to rotate.
3. Start the unit and move the shift lever until the rear
wheels stop moving. Shut off tractor engine, leaving
shift lever in position.
4. Loosen nut (A, Figure 5) securing the front shift rod
(E) to the idler pivot assembly (B) and rear shift rod
lever (C). The front shift rod must be free to move
without disturbing the position of the rear shift rod (C).
5.Move the shift lever so that it is positioned in the neutral
gate.
6. Tighten nut (A) securely.
7. Check operation of unit for any movement with shift
lever in neutral gate. Perform the return-to-neutral
adjustment (refer to next page).
