Transaxle Disassembly
Disassembly of the transaxle assumes that the following
components have been removed:
• oil lines and filter
• hydro pump
• parking brake components
• axle carriers
1. Position the left hand housing assembly with the
pump mounting surface down (Take care to avoid
damaging the axle carrier assembly mounting sur-
face). This places the right hand housing assembly
up and allows access to the housing
assembly bolts.
2. If torque strap has not been removed,
remove the two mounting bolts and lock-
nuts from the front housing.
3. Using 1/2 inch wrench (and/or socket)
remove the housing assembly bolts.

transaxle housing.
2. Remove the two internal hex head screw retaining
the filter base to the axle housing.
3. Remove the filter base and gasket.
4. Unscrew the filter base from the 7/16 SAE barbed fit-
ting and hose.
