PROGRAMMING THE PUMP
The SIGMA Spectrum Pump provides two main options for controlling infusions:

Drug Error Prevention (DEP) Mode
- This mode uses predetermined dosing information
stored in the Master Drug Library to control the dose, rate, volume, time and other infusion
parameters for specific drugs. This mode protects against human errors that could cause
Adverse Drug Events.
■
Basic Mode
- This mode allows you to manually specify the dose, rate, volume, time and
other parameters for the infusion. Note, however, that the basic mode can not detect human
errors.
Keys Used to Program and Operate the Pump
Key
Description
ARROWS
Press to advance cursors and select alternate
choices.
BACK
Press to go back to the previous screen.
BASIC
Press to acesses the mL/hr setup (bypassing
the Drug Error Prevention system). From
BASIC, dose rate modes and Multi-Step
modes may also be selected.
BOLUS
Press to access the Bolus setup without
stopping the pump.
CLEAR
Press to erase the highlighted entry.
CLEAR PROGRAM
Press to selectively clear primary mode,
secondary mode, or both.
CLR STEP
Press to clear one step of Multi-Step
Programming Mode.
EDIT
Press to change the flush volume on the flush
setup screen (software version 6.03.01 and
later) and on the priming volume screen
(MDL version 6.05.00 and later).
HOLD
Press to place the pump in standby mode.
