You may receive a popup error if you exceed the dose rate limits defined in the MDL for the
drug.
9.
After you have OK’d each of the parameters, select one of the following actions:

To start the infusion, make sure the slide clamp is open and press
RUN
.
■
To put the pump in standby mode, press
HOLD
.
■
To set a delayed start, press
D.RUN
(software version 5.02.03 and earlier).
■
To set up a secondary infusion, press
SETUP
. For version 6.01.00 and later, press
PRO-
GRAM SECNDRY
to setup a secondary infusion.
For instructions on setting up a secondary infusion, refer to “Setting up a Secondary Infu-
sion” section, beginning on page 29.
10. If you pressed
RUN
to start the infusion, check the flow and confirm that all clamps are
open, there are no kinks in the tubing, and drops are flowing. If everything is flowing prop-
erly, push the
YES
softkey.
NOTE:
Confirmation that drops are flowing is required for software versions
6.01.00 and later.

Soft dose rate limits
may be exceeded by
pressing
OK
twice (once to enter the value
and again to accept the limit warning)
thereby providing a double confirmation.

decline the dose rate displayed in the dialog

is increased or decreased by a % (set in
Master Drug Library) above or below the

box. In BASIC mode the default rate
advisory is set at 500% and cannot be
changed.
The rate advisory will be 500% if the
selected care area name contains
“Anesthesia” or “OR”
