Note
RTU not reachable via the mobile wireless network
After resetting to factory settings, the RTU can no longer be reached via the mobile wireless
network.
If an SD card is plugged in, the following are also deleted:
●
The automatically saved configuration file default.cfg
●
The diagnostics buffer file
After the reset the RTU is restarted.
Following startup the RTU can only be reached via the Ethernet interface with the address
data preset in the factory, refer to the section Address data of the RTU (Page 100).
Backing up configuration data prior to resetting
If you do not want to discard configuration data of the RTU, you can back up the data prior to
resetting as follows:
●
Configuration data on the SD card
When using an SD card, you can remove the SD card prior to resetting and use it again
after the reset. Since you cannot change the SD card during operation, you need to follow
the steps below:
–
Shut down the RTU to the safe status
–
Remove the SD card
Refer to the section Inserting the SIM card and SD card (Page 69) for this.
–
Reset to factory settings
–
After the restart when shut down the RTU to the safe status
–
Insert the SD card
●
Saving on the configuration PC
As an alternative you can save the configuration file on the configuration PC and
following the reset and subsequent restart download it to the RTU, refer to the section
Configuration (Page 122).
