Figure 3-18 Battery module (not mounted) with inserted battery holder, cable connected.
Note
Starting battery operation
The RTU only starts up when there are two batteries with adequate voltage and capacity in
the main battery module. The RTU cannot start up with the other battery modules.
Note
Battery switchover only when a configuration exists.
The RTU only switches between battery module 1 and 2 if you have configured battery
modules in the WBM and have connected them in the WBM. For configuration and changing
batteries, refer to the section Power supply (Page 171).
Supply of the RTU via battery modules and external power supply
1.
Turn on the external power supply.
The RTU starts up.
2.
Connect the batteries as described above.
Startup behavior of the RTU
During startup the RTU behaves as follows:
●
The LED "STATUS" flashes green.
●
If an SD card is plugged in, the RTU searches for the configuration data stored on the
card.
–
When it has found the configuration data on the card, the RTU reads in the
configuration data.
–
If the configuration data is not found on the card, the RTU uses the configuration data
in its internal memory.
If the RTU does not find any configuration data in its internal memory it remains in
service mode. The STATUS LED flashes red.
