Program-controlled reading

Enable signal
This option allows you to limit the time for reading in the analog signal. Sensors can
therefore only be switched on when required. This reduces the energy consumption of
the RTU.
Reading the measured value is only enabled when the digital signal of a variable is set.
You can use the following as the enable signal:

Digital input 0..7; digital inputs 0 and 1 must be defined as digital inputs and not as
counters.

All digital outputs
–
All digital bit memories
The analog signal is not read in with the value 0 of the digital variable.
As soon as the value of the variable is set to 1, reading of the analog signal is enabled.
Meaning of the drop-down list entries:

Signal not used
The function is disabled for this analog input (default). The analog signal is read in
with each update cycle.
If no digital variables are configured, this is the only setting option.

Digital variable ...
From the drop-down list, select the variable that you want to use to enable reading.
The initial check of the enable signal occurs at the beginning of the update cycle of the
analog inputs after completion of the lead time (settling time + integration time). If not all
configured inputs are active at this time, a new lead time for the inactive inputs is
calculated and the RTU switches to sleep mode.
The enable signals are checked again at the beginning of the repeated update cycle. If
the inputs are now active, reading of the analog inputs begins and the power supply of
the inputs X40/X42 is switched on.
If the signals have changed again in the meantime, the system switches to sleep mode
again.
If the enable signals of all inputs are 0 at the beginning of the update cycle, no input is
read in.
Special consideration for input AI0:
The "Enable signal" and the option "Update on value change in sleep mode" cannot be
configured at the same time.
